Bumbo Chair!

We bought the Bumbo chair for Ian when he was about 5 month old. It is great! Ian loves his Bumbo chair. It can help support him to sit up.

When we first got it, it's a little too tight for Ian. His legs got stucked in the hole. It was really funny to see that. Furtunately, as Ian grows, his leg beccame skinnier. It's a wonderful substitute for high chair. We didn't have a high chair for Ian. We have the bumbo and the booster chair for his meal time. And they work great!

Bumbo Chair 是我們2個月前買給奕凱的，它的材質是優質無毒軟膠，Bumbo 之所以大受歡迎，皆因其好處比其他嬰兒座椅，如嬰兒高椅好得多，不佔空間輕便可攜性高。Bumbo可於任何地方使用，放在汽車後座或在嬰兒手推車的存放空格行李箱裡，出門就隨時幫寶寶帶了椅子。戲水、用餐、踏青等，以便於戶外任何平面地方使用；其座椅由軟性材料製造，質輕、無毒，持久耐用，而且還容易清理。Bumbo 的椅背能保持嬰孩的坐姿舒適挺直，還有以嬰孩自己重量來收窄其腿上空間的設計，可輕柔地把嬰孩維持在適當的姿勢。Bumbo 最常用於嬰孩餵哺時間，或是平時讓寶寶坐下觀看其他孩子遊戲的時候。

奕凱很喜歡坐在Bumbo上，但是他的大腿有點小粗，所以會卡住，所以不能坐太久，最近我們還買了Bumbo專用的餐盤，讓他可以坐在Bumbo上吃食物泥和米糊，就不用買high chair餐椅了，很好用喔！

I love my feet!

I don't know if every baby has the same habbit as Ian. But Ian loves to eat his feet.

Really, really loves them. He alsways puts his feet into his mouth and sucks on the toe. Just like sucking his binky. I laughed so hard when I saw him do that the first time. It's really funny! Such a wierd baby he is.

我不知道是所有的baby都有這個習慣，還是這是奕凱特有的嗜好----奕凱喜歡吃他的腳腳，很喜歡，很喜歡，沒事就好像作餘家一樣把腳腳拉到嘴巴，津津有味的吸吮起來，第一次看到時笑死我啦！怎麼有這麼奇怪的小baby，愛吃腳腳，好像把腳當成奶嘴一樣呢！

Starting the solid food

At the four month check, I ask Pediatricion when can I start the solid. Doctor said I can start to try some rice cereal from 4 month old. But don't force him to eat it if he doesn't like it. Try it some other time.

So I started the rice cereal. He like it. Just don't know how to swallow it. He is learning. I'm fine with that. I try to feed him every couple days.

At the 6 month check, Doctor said I can let him taste everything now. From 6-9 month is the time for baby to taste every kind of food. So we can see what are the food Ian likes and doesn't like. But as for the juice, Doctor told us to give him juice after he can drink water from a cup. So I guess the juice needs to wait. Sorry, Ian.

在四個月的回診時，我問小兒科醫生什麼時候可以開始餵奕凱吃其他食物，醫生說：

" 在滿四個月後就可以開始餵他吃米精(rice cereal), 但是，不要強迫他，如果他有意願吃就餵他，如果他不願意，就改天再試試。"

所以，我開始嘗試餵他米精(rice cereal),沒想到他還挺喜歡的，只是，不知道怎麼吞，所以還在學習。我也不強迫他，總之，幾天才餵他一次。6個月的回診時，醫生說可以開始餵他食物泥，6-9個月是寶寶嘗試所有的食物的時期，也可以開始餵他開水了，但是果汁要等到他可以自己從杯子喝水之後才能給他喝。所以，我們便開始餵食物泥的歷險了，看看哪些食物是奕凱喜歡的，哪些是他討厭的。

我們開始先從香蕉開始嘗試，凱凱很愛香蕉，吃了3-4天之後，再換梨子，好像梨子比較沒有味道，所以他沒香蕉那麼喜歡。之後換水蜜桃，這些他都還蠻喜歡的，吃的量也從一小杯變成一大碗。不過，我看了百歲醫生的書說，食物泥要以香蕉作底，再加入其他的食物，因為香蕉較甜，所以會混合其他的食物，讓其他的食物也甜甜的，比較好吃。所以水蜜桃裏我就加了香蕉，凱凱吃的不亦樂乎呢！

My little monkey!

This little monkey puppet is the first gift Patrick bought for Ian. He got thid the day Ian was born. Daddy said that Ian looked like a little monkey when he is born. So he bought him a friend. We put the little monkey to sleep with Ian in his crib. Look at the way little monkey hold Ian. It's so cute!

這隻小玩偶是奕凱出生那天，小藍先生買給奕凱的，而奕凱鋼出生的1個月也很像一隻小猴子，所以我們把他的小猴子引薦給奕凱，要他們認識認識，把小猴子放在奕凱身上，跟奕凱一起睡覺去囉！你看，小猴子抱著奕凱的樣子，超可愛的！

Take a nap with Daddy

After moving Ian to his room, we sometimes bring Ian to our room to take a nap together in order to enjoy the closer feeling. Sometimes just lay down with him after he wakes up from his nap. Look at this lovely picture and those sleepy eyes. How cute!

在把奕凱移到他自己的房間後，偶爾，小藍先生也會把奕凱抱來我們房間和我們一起睡，但是不是睡整夜，有時是早上奕凱睡醒後把他抱來，有時是一起睡個午覺。看著2個人都昏昏欲睡的模樣，真可愛

愛說話的奕凱

早在奕凱出生前，我們就知道他一定會是個愛說話的寶寶，因為小藍先生和我都愛說話，看不出來小藍先生愛說話嗎？他對熟人說的話可多囉！所以，當奕凱開始會咿咿啊啊之後，就沒完沒了的說。每天放他去午睡時，會躺在小床上跟自己說個20分鐘的話才睡著。有時拉著他的腳說，有時抓住他的玩偶說。整天咿咿啊啊的，超有趣的。有時他不怎麼說話的時候，我們反而覺得怪怪的，都不像他呢！

First Christmas Gift from Aunt Laura

Pat's sister-Laura-always gave pajamas for the first Christmas gift for all the niece and nephews. Of course, Ian got his first Christmas gift from Aunt Laura,too. We didn't spent Christmas together this year. So Aunt Laura mail this to Ian. Thank you Aunt Laura.

小藍先生的姐姐，所有的姪子姪女第一年的聖誕節都會收到同樣的禮物---睡衣一套，對奕凱也不例外，去年的聖誕節我們沒有一起過， 所以蘿拉姑姑就把睡衣寄來給凱凱了！謝謝蘿拉姑姑！奕凱有穿上拍照為證喔！

藍家廚房---綠咖哩米粉

我很喜歡泰式料理，所以也很喜歡綠咖哩的味道，尤其再加上椰奶，味道超棒。

之前在某個網站看到了這個綠咖哩米粉的食譜，決定自己來實驗看看。

綠咖哩米粉

材料：
米粉半包
綠咖哩3大匙
椰奶半瓶
豬肉絲少許
蔥 一把(4-5根)
高麗菜 1/4個
洋蔥 半個
魚露 2小匙
糖 3小匙

做法：
1. 將米粉放入鍋中煮2-3分鐘，撈起
2. 將洋蔥，蔥，高麗菜和豬肉都切絲
3. 起油鍋，將豬肉絲放進去炒，熟後呈起。
4. 將洋蔥放入鍋中炒，半熟後放入高麗菜和蔥，繼續拌炒至菜變半透明，再將炒好的豬肉放入。
5. 將椰奶倒入鍋中，將綠咖哩放入攪拌，綠咖哩都溶開之後，再加入魚露和糖
6. 試試味道ok後再將米粉倒入攪拌，之後再放個2分鐘就行了！

藍家廚房---台式炒麵

我最喜歡的台式炒麵是我奶奶做的。

從小，每年的年夜飯，奶奶一定會做一大盤炒麵，我很喜歡吃麵食類，我不太喜歡吃飯，但是可以連續吃麵吃一星期也無所謂。而我最喜歡的炒麵就是我奶奶做的。

我媽不喜歡吃麵食類，比較喜歡吃米食類的東西，所以她不會做炒麵，而我以前也不喜歡煮菜，所以沒向奶奶學怎麼做炒麵。而奶奶去世之後，我喜歡的炒麵味道也就消逝了。

某天，我突然心血來潮的想吃炒麵，於是，又上網去找找食譜，看看能不能做出我熟悉的味道。但是，這裡的油麵很難買，所以呢，我就用義大利麵條代替啦！也行喔！

雖然沒有做出奶奶的味道，但是，跟記憶中的夜市炒麵味道差不多，還不錯。小藍先生也很喜歡呢！這道蔡是我們家餐桌上的常客喔！

台式炒麵

材料：
義大利麵條
洋蔥 一個
紅蘿蔔 2根(美國的紅蘿蔔很小條，所以我用了2根，在台灣應該半根就行)
高麗菜 1/4顆
豆芽菜少許
豬肉少許
醬油
沙茶醬(可有可無)
水 半杯


做法：
1. 將義大利麵條放入沸騰的鍋中，煮熟(因為是要當成油麵，所以我會煮爛一點)。
2. 將洋蔥，紅蘿蔔，高麗菜和豬肉都切絲。
3. 起油鍋，將豬肉絲放進去炒，熟後呈起。
4. 將洋蔥和紅蘿蔔絲放入鍋中炒，半熟後放入高麗菜和豆芽菜，繼續拌炒至菜變半透明。
5. 加入醬油和沙茶醬和水，繼續拌炒，再把之前的豬肉絲放進去。
此時，鍋裏會有不少的湯汁，這是對的，因為要放進麵條去吸取醬汁，所以，水分不能太少。
6. 試試味道，現在的味道要重一點，不然放進麵條之後，就沒味道囉！
味道對了之後，再把麵條放入拌炒，所有的麵條都沾上醬汁之後，再放個3-4分鐘就行了。

這樣就完成了我的台式炒麵囉！
PS---因為小藍先生不喜歡蝦米和香菇的味道，所以我沒加，喜歡的人也可以加入這些。
基本上喜歡什麼就放什麼囉！

藍家廚房---炸豆腐

很久沒上菜了，趁最近有空，趕快PO上來。

我一直很喜歡吃炸豆腐，在臺灣時百吃不厭，來到美國，當然沒有人賣台灣小吃阿(住在加州不算)，所以又要自己來了，幸好這並不太難。難的是沾醬。

之前做了幾次炸豆腐，但是沾醬做不好吃，所以不太喜歡。

這次終於作出好吃的沾醬，跟大家分享我的食譜，希望大家喜歡囉。

材料：
豆腐一盒(在這裡我都是買extra firm的)
太白粉
番薯粉
大量的油

沾醬材料：
蒜頭2-3瓣
醬油
糖
水
米淋


做法：
1. 將豆腐切成你想要的大小
2. 太白粉和番薯粉以2:1的比例拌勻，把豆腐塊均勻沾上粉
3. 起油鍋，用大火炸豆腐至金黃(我的都炸不黃，所以表面Ok之後，我就起鍋了)，即可

沾醬做法：
把蒜頭磨成泥狀(我用garlic press)，加入醬油，糖，水和米淋，調成你喜歡的味道就行了。
PS---我發現要用日本的醬油才不會那麼"死鹼" ，美國的龜甲萬超鹹

之前去逛街時，總愛看看有沒有給奕凱的鞋鞋，結果看到了2雙超可愛的拖鞋，給他試穿一下，哇！超可愛的啦！看看下面的照片喔！

Little hands and feet

I love to hold Ian's hands and feet. Whenever I do that, I feel that life is a marvelous thing. And I also feel the responsibility for being a mother. It has been 12 years since I join the church. I've learned so much at church, especially at teaching children. I served in primary for 7-8 years in 12 years. From nursery(18 months to 3 years old), sunbeam(3-4 years old), CTR(5-8 years old), valiant(9-12 years old) to primary president, all of these were preparing me to teach my own child to develop my patience, love for children and how to teach them.

The first calling I had was nursery teaching. I was 20 years old at the time. I haven't develop my love for children yet. Other than my baby brother, I haven't had any experience to deal with children. So I told my mom:

" Why does bishop ask me to be nursery teacher? I don't know how to deal with children?

" That's why Heavenly Father wants you to learn to have patience and love for the children." Mom answered me.

Since then, I was always serving in the primary. After couple years of experience, I've learned the most important principle of how to get along with children---LOVE and CARE.

Ian's First Sunday Clothes奕凱的第一套正式服裝

因為要在教會作命名祝福的緣故，所以很早就幫奕凱買了一套正式服裝，是一件白襯衫+小背心+絨褲，加上大伯母買給他的鞋鞋，穿起來真是太帥了！那時，奕凱才1個多月，而這一套衣服是0-3個月的，沒穿幾次就不能穿了，真可惜！還好有拍照留念呢！

In order to have Ian's naming and blessing at church, we bought him a suit-- a white shirt, pant and a vest. Plus the dress shoe that Katherine bought him. He looks so cute. When we bought the suit, Ian was 4 weeks old. And the suit is for 0-3 month. But Ian grew too fast. So he only wore that couple time before it became too small. Actually, he never wore this for his blessing because we did it when he was 3 months old while most of the families came over to El Paso. But these are some of the pictures.

Little Koala and Eucalyptus小無尾熊和尤加利樹

When Ian is couple weeks old, He loved to sleep on top of me or Pat. One day, when he was sleeping on Pat, Pat said:

“Caroline, Watch Ian's Hands! He's holding me!”

Ian had opened his arm around Pat. It looked like he was holding his daddy. Pat is very happy about it. It was a very cute scene. But didn't it look like a little koala holding on a eucalyptus??? Look how cute they are!

凱凱剛出生時很喜歡趴在我們身上睡覺，有一天他趴在爸爸身上睡覺時，兩隻手突然張開，抱住爸爸，小藍先生超開心的。但是，看起來真的很像一隻小無尾熊抱住尤加利樹一樣耶！真的很可愛喔！看看下面的照片吧！

Ian loves to take a bath! 凱凱愛洗澎澎

Ian loves to take a bath. He never cries when he took a bath. Instead, he enjoys taking every single bath. The first time when we put him in his little baby bath tub, we were afraid if he will cry. NO. He looked around the whole time and felt curious about this new activity.
Sometimes, I took Ian to take a bath with me. He is so enjoyable that he is almost falling asleep every single time. He really loves to take a bath. Sometimes Pat jokes around and said:

“Ian's so loved to take a bath. Maybe we can give him a bath to calm him down when he is cranky.”

Hahaha, maybe we can really try this way to calm him down. It should work.

Yesterday, Pat said this when I gave Ian a bath:
“I can't wait for him to take a bath by himself. That must be fun to watch. ”

“Hmmm…, I don't know. That time, He will have all the toys to take a bath with him. You know, his ducky, cars, turtle …etc. According to his situation now, maybe it will take him an hour to finish.” I reply.

Seriously, that might happen.

奕凱很喜歡洗澎澎，從出生到現在，洗澡時從來都沒哭哭過，反而每次洗澡時都露出一付很享受的樣子。第一次放他進去他的小澡盆里洗澡時，很怕他會哭哭，結果，他只有眼睛轉來轉去的看來看去，覺得很新奇的樣子。有時，我和凱凱一起在浴缸里洗澡，他則一副昏昏欲睡的樣子，實在是太享受了。小藍先生常常開玩笑的說：

" 奕凱這麼愛洗澡，如果他很番的時候，哭不停的話，就幫他洗澡，他就會安靜下來啦！"

哈哈哈，下次可以試試，說不定行的通呢！昨天，奕凱在洗澡時，小藍先生說： " 我等不及看到他可以自己洗澡的時候了，那一定很好玩！"" 那時，他會有一堆玩具跟他一起洗澡，可能會洗一個小時才出來喔！"
